Objectives (ILOS)
Theoretical sessions
Ø Understand biological basis of stem cell characteristics, sources and types, mainly oral derived tissues
Ø Develop knowledge about basic techniques and requirements for cell isolation, culturing and characterization
Ø Overview the wide varieties of oral derived stem cells applications in dental and medical fields.
Hands-on and Demonstration sessions
Ø Demonstrate safe and easy sampling procedure to isolate stem cells from dental and oral tissues.
Ø Master methods for establishing and managing contamination free cell culture facilities.
Ø Practicing laboratory protocols for media and culture conditions, passaging and splitting of cells.
Performing cell counting and microscopic characterization of cells.
